What is a PDO thread?
Polydioxanone (PDO) has been widely used in the medical arena for over a decade. Polydioxanone is both bio-compatible and bio-degradable in the human body.
It is a colourless, crystalline, synthetic polymer of multiple repeating ether-ester units.
How does it affect your body?
PDO thread + foreign body reaction + wound healing = Tissue Contraction
Needle Rotation (Acupuncture) + mechanotransduction = Collagen/Fibrosis formation

Skin ageing is a complex interaction of intrinsic factors (genetics, cellular metabolism, hormones, metabolic processes) and extrinsic factors (chronic UV radiation exposure, pollution, ionizing radiation, toxins, chemicals) This results in reduced production and increased degradation of collagen. Together with other changes this will produce characteristic signs of skin ageing such as laxity, wrinkles, folds, jowels etc. PDO threads will help replaces lost collagen resulting in a firmer, smoother skin and reduced laxity folds and jowels.
